Rec/In-House Program

Registration deadlines

K-2 : registration open Sept. 1 - Oct. 5
3-6: registration open Sept. 1 - Oct. 15
7-8: registration open Sept. 1 - Oct. 5

Refund policy:
If you cancel your child's registration before the season starts, you'll receive a refund minus a $35 cancellation fee. If for any reason, the FYBA decides to cancel the season, you'll receive a prorated refund. 

Emergency contact form
All players MUST complete an emergency contact form by the first day of practice in order to participate.

FYBA will be defaulting to the recommendations of the MDH, the CDC and District 192 Facility guidelines. These are 'recommended' best practices and the FYBA will act in accordance with these guidelines during the 20/21 season.

Registration fees

The cost for each girl/boy player is as follows:

  • Kindergarten - $75
  • 1st Grade - $75
  • 2nd Grade - $75
  • 3rd/4th Grade - Includes tournament fees $125
  • 5th/6th Grade - Includes tournament fees $180
  • 7th/8th Grade - Includes tournament fees $180

* A transaction fee will be passed on to the cardholder if paying by debit/credit card.

Volunteer Commitment for 3rd-8th grade player families

ALL 3rd-8th grade player families will be required to fulfill one volunteer session during the season. These families will need to submit a $150 volunteer check at the Meet the Coach Night and/or before receiving their playing jersey.

Families must work one session during the 2020-21 FYBA Rec Basketball season or their volunteer check will be cashed at the end of the season.  The volunteer dibs will be made available closer to the start of the season and you can register for a session online.

*Due to the nature of COVID-19 and the ongoing changes and requirements from Facilities 192 and the MDH guidelines, we will adapt and incorporate requirements accordingly. If it is determined that volunteers are not needed/allowed, we will not cash any checks.


Practice Schedule

Kindergarten - 2nd grade girl/boy teams will have weekly Saturday morning sessions running from  the beginning of November 2020 through the end of January 2021.

  • No events on November 28, December 5, 25 and Jan. 2.
  • A virtual parent meeting time/venue will be shared closer to session start dates.

3rd - 4th grade girl/boy teams will have weekly one 45 minute to 1 hour practices and Saturday morning (or) afternoon sessions beginning early December 2020 through the beginning of March 2021.  These grades will also have an end of the year tournament scheduled during this time frame. 

  • No events will be held on November 28, December 5,  25, 26 and January 2.  
  • A virtual parent meeting will be held in early December (the time /venue TBD).
  • In order to receive a player's jersey, families must bring $150 volunteer check to the first scheduled practice .

5th - 6th grade girl/boy teams will have (2) 45 min-1-hour practices during the week and Saturday afternoon games beginning early December - early March, 2020. These grades will also have an end of the year tournament scheduled during this time frame.

  • No events will be held on November 28, December 5,  25, 26 and January 2.
  • Player evaluation on November 23rd at Dodge Middle School from 6-8 p.m.
  • A virtual parent meeting will be held in early December (time/venue TBD).
  • End of year tournament scheduled for March 6-7th, 2021, location TBD.
  • Families must bring $150 volunteer check to the player evaluation night Nov. 23.

7th - 8th grade BOY teams will have (2) 45 min - 1 hour practices during the week and Saturday afternoon games beginning late November - early March 2020.  Games MAY be organized through the Burnsville Athletic Club (BAC) and will include other south metro communities.

  • No events on November 28, December 5,  25 , 26 and January 2.
  • November 10th will be a player evaluation from 7-8:30 at Boeckman Middle School.
  • A virtual parent meeting will be held in early November (time and venue TBD).
  • Families must bring $150 volunteer check to the player evaluation night Nov. 10.

*FYBA is NOT offering a program this year for the 7th and 8th grade girls because of the past low participation.  However please reach out to us if you want to hear of other local opportunities.
