Travel Basketball

The FYBA Travel Basketball Program is designed for players seeking a higher level of competition and skill development. Players are selected through an evaluation process and placed on teams based on skill level, competitive balance, and developmental readiness. The program focuses on advanced instruction, team concepts, and competitive game experience to help prepare players for future levels of basketball.

Ages

Boys and girls in grades 3rd–8th are eligible to participate.

Players are evaluated and placed on teams based on skill level, competitive balance, and developmental readiness.

When

Registration typically opens early July.

Player evaluations are held in September, with 2026-2027 season evaluations scheduled for the following dates:

Girls Evaluations: September 12-13, 2026

Boys Evaluations: September 19-20, 2026

Please note that players are required to attend both evaluation sessions.

Practices begin in October. Tournament play typically runs from November through March, with the season concluding at the State Tournament.

Practices

Teams typically practice twice per week.

Practice days vary by team and may include Wednesdays and Fridays.

Practice times are determined by the head coach, with most teams starting between 6:00 PM and 7:30 PM and occasional 8:00 PM starts.

Games

Teams compete in weekend tournaments throughout the season.

Most tournaments are local, although occasional overnight travel may be required.

The season concludes with participation in the State Tournament.

  • Shorts
  • Practice Jersey

Uniform costs are separate from registration fees.
