Getting Involved - Volunteer Requirements
Volunteer Opportunities
There may also be FYBA committees that need parent volunteers to coordinate. Anyone interested in becoming a member of the FYBA Board or participating on a committee should make their interest known to the FYBA President.
Volunteering Requirements
Other than coaching or being a coordinator, the primary way to fulfill the annual family volunteer commitment is to work a designated shift during the Boys or Girls Tiger Classic tournaments. Typical duties include concessions, admissions, court monitors, setup and cleanup, and site coordinators. Signup shifts are posted online, typically two weeks before each tournament. These are the only official FYBA volunteer opportunities available throughout the season.
FYBA does NOT acknowledge team “managers,” recording the team’s scorebook for games, take photos for team’s webpage, or help the designated coaches as practice as fulfillment of their volunteer commitments.
When in doubt, ask the Volunteer Director what counts as an official FYBA volunteer role.
