Travel Basketball
The FYBA Travel Basketball Program is designed for players seeking a higher level of competition and skill development. Players are selected through an evaluation process and placed on teams based on skill level, competitive balance, and developmental readiness. The program focuses on advanced instruction, team concepts, and competitive game experience to help prepare players for future levels of basketball.
Ages
Boys and girls in grades 3rd–8th are eligible to participate.

When
Registration typically opens early July.
Player evaluations are held in September, with 2026-2027 season evaluations scheduled for the following dates:
Girls Evaluations: September 12-13, 2026
Boys Evaluations: September 19-20, 2026
Please note that players are required to attend both evaluation sessions.
Practices begin in October. Tournament play typically runs from November through March, with the season concluding at the State Tournament.
Practices
Teams typically practice twice per week.
Practice days vary by team and may include Wednesdays and Fridays.
Practice times are determined by the head coach, with most teams starting between 6:00 PM and 7:30 PM and occasional 8:00 PM starts.
Games
Teams compete in weekend tournaments throughout the season.
Most tournaments are local, although occasional overnight travel may be required.
The season concludes with participation in the State Tournament.
Uniforms
Players are required to have the following items:
- Jersey
- Shorts
- Practice Jersey
Uniform costs are separate from registration fees.
Try-on Session and Ordering info will come out after teams are announced.
Returning players retain their jersey number from the previous season, while new players are assigned a jersey number.
Jersey number requests are not accepted.
Volunteer Requirments
Each family is required to complete two volunteer shifts per season, regardless of the number of registered players in the household.

Basketball Sizes
Girls and Boys in 3rd and 4th grade use a 27.5 ball.
Girls 5th grade and up and boys 5th and 6th grade use a 28.5 ball.
Boys 7th and 8th grade use a men's regulation size ball 29.5.
